Well, the XBOX 360 is OK, but Microsoft needs to address the heating problem it has in the heat/PSU block.

Many of my classmates in my classes say that although the XBOX 360 will rule for 2005, the PS3 will rule 2006. Generally because they state that the PS3 is more popular and stable than the XBOX 360; plus contains better graphics.

To me, the PS3 looks like a DSL modem, that's just my opinion. Smile

However, the Nintendo Revolution looks OK, the controller is just a bit wierd; it's like a long remote control.

In conclusion, I will wait until 'victims' try out the three consoles to see which will suit me. As my classmate said to me: "Never buy the first edition of a console, because it will be sold out. Wait for like three months when the price isn't 'jacked up' and you can save some money and get a game." And another classmate says to me: "...But the first edition is always hackable!"

Those are words of (some sort of) wisdom to be kept in mind. Smile

The Revolution, followed by the PS3, followed by the imaginary-only-in-my-mind console that Sega won't be putting out.

The Revolution because it will be cheapest and because Nintendo has never had a console launch go bad. (Remember the PS2 launch? The PS1 launch was a good example too. And the Japanese XBOX launch. Compare those to the SNES, N64, and GC launches)

The PS3 because, well, just try and watch the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer without drooling. *Thinks of what Silent Hill 5 would be like and drools some more* And it's weird to see Sony putting out a first-party title for its dying system so late in its life cycle (Wild ARMs 4) Of course, this just begs the question? How long has the game been out in Japan? It took them 3 years to bring over the last Wild ARMs game (Alter Code: F) None of this is going to stop me from buying either, of course. Except maybe bankruptcy. Nevermind, just ignore the Wild ARMs fanboy. (They ain't gonna come out with anything to top the second one, anyway.)

The only points of interest the 360 has going for it (which aren't enough to constitute buying it) are probably Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and the fact that Square-Enix is making a non-crap console version of Final Fantasy XI for it. (Amazing that Squenix is actually going with a next-gen conslole after their insistance that FF XII and Kingdom Hearts 2 be on the PS2.

How backwards compatible do you think the Revolution will be? Think the Game Boy Player will work on it?

I seriously think that Sega should make another console, but I know their sales lately have been crap. (Hmmm... Maybe if they made a good game that might change.

But since that will never happen, I'd like to see either the Revolution or PS3 be backwards compatible with the Dreamcast. T'would be cool.

ok, so far i only see the revolutioons prospering im sad to say and yet im happy to say. Sony is getting sued so their in the $#!7 hole.their having to file apologies to seperate countries and states around the world.

next over 3/5 of the XBOX 360's that came out are having tons of problems. the 360 must have be at a certain temperature at all times, you can not set it on a desk or anything, you have to buy a special filter for it to sit in,and of course they have booting problems.so basically to all who have ordered a 360 to play it you must order a microsoft testing center.

therefore the nintendo will prosper.

Thinking about Silent Hill 5 for PS3 makes me shudder.

I don't believe one should compare Revolution with PS3 or the 360 because they themselves stated that they are not even going to compete with Sony or Microsoft. Instead, Nintendo is releasing more of a creative and innovative piece of gaming. True the PSP is better than the DS, but instead of focusing on the graphics or sticking to tradition, Nintendo thought of Dual screen gaming.

PS3 would be mine because I've always been a secret Microsoft hater, and i have no problems with Nintendo, but come on, my favorite genre is RPGs. Who disagrees that there were excellent RPGs for PS1 and PS2? I can't imagine Final Fantasy on PS3

Dream no more, Final Fantasy VII is in 'tech' development to run on the PS3.

One of the games I saw in class was Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3, we all watched in awe when the technical preview trailer. The movie trailer you can see on GameSpot or IGN, is actual in-game footage, even Octacon is on the map you see in the preview, the developers state that he is in a remote village on the map.

Another game I'm very interested in is Killzone for the PS3, it reminds me of Call of Duty 2 but more action packed.

yeah but the MGS series needs to introduce other characters for these reasons:
1.who here likes raiden?no one right? he looks cool but he's a whiner.
2.Snake is getting WAAAAY too old, he has an electronice eye and his hair is gray.pack it in old timer.
---------
that or they need to go back to when snake was young.

Recently read an article where the PS3 will cost somewhere from $399 to $699; can you say, "Buying a new computer for the den/living room"? Smile

And in retrospect, it was the one we should have been rooting for. after all was said and done, the head start really helped the 360.

As I've said in this post, I share the same view as Toriban, the XBOX 360, part of the 7th console generation, has been out the longest, and has grabbed the most console gaming market share. I quote myself, "[s]ome will opt for the $100-200 less XBOX 360, either for costs or a more broad console game listing", indeed the XBOX 360 has quite a range of console games at the moment, but over time the PS3 and Wii will get to that point over time. Gears of War seems (this is of course subjective) to be the "killer-game" for the XBOX 360, like Halo 1/2 was the "killer-game" for the XBOX.

It appears that folks, at the time of this post, prefer the Nintendo Wii over the other two console systems - but that's because four of us voted, and we shall have more votes. Smile

Wow, I looked at my post in January of 2006 and I did not know that I felt that way about the systems back then. Anyways, my opinion has definitely changed since then. I still stand by the fact that Nintendo should not be compared to the 360 or the PS3 in specs, but innovation-wise the Wii wins in my opinion. I have also gotten quite fond of the 360 just because of my love for Halo, Halo 2, and Guitar Hero II. PS3 is not a smart buy for my kind of gaming. I was THOROUGHLY disappointed with FFXII. I bought it the day it came out too....and yeah, FFXIII will be grand I guess, but I really do not have any need for a PS3 at this point.
