XBOX 360 Debuts
#1
At the time of this post, there are just seven more days until Microsoft's next generation gaming console, the XBOX 360, debuts.

This new gaming console boasts the power of three custom-made symmetrical cored processor, each core running at 3.2 GHz; a 500 MHz custom ATI-powered graphics card, 512 MB of RAM; HD support; 20 GB hard drive; and other such features.

The XBOX 360 is more than just a gaming console, its supposedly supposed to be the center of your digital media center. The XBOX 360 is able to support playing DVDs, CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, DVD-ROMS, DVD-Rs, DVD+Rs, MP3s, view JPEGs, and other file formats.

Hate wires? Well, it has been eliminated, out of the box the controllers communicate with the XBOX 360 by a cycling wireless signal. This cycling signal enables up two four wireless controllers to communicate with the console, without any interference.

Have old XBOX games? You can still play it on the XBOX 360, with its backward-compatibility.

Among the other features, what about USB? You bet there is USB! Two ports are located in the front and one in the back to connect your various digital devices, such as MP3 players, digital camcorders, and even a PC with Windows XP or Windows Media Center 2005 Edition.

With the ATI-powered graphics card, clocked at 500 MHz, games such as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, users are able to see individual blades of grass swaying in a certain direction the wind rather than the current XBOX system where it is just a generic grass background. Referring to HD support, it can support a resolution of up to 720p/1080i and games are viewable at up to 16:9 mode (you do not need to have an HD-TV, a regular tubed television will work fine with the XBOX 360) .

To sum a few of the games the XBOX 360 will have is ,if you haven't seen the commercials already, Call of Duty 2. Among others are: Quake 4, Perfect Dark Zero, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Project Gotham Racing 3 - just to name a few.

How will this sum up with Sony's upcoming console the PlayStation 3? The XBOX 360 will compete head to head with the PS3 with BluRay Disc Support (having immense storage of 54 GB) and a custom-made graphics card @ 550 MHz, coming out Spring 2006 to catch up with most of the console gaming market.

The XBOX 360 system has been released to most retail stores, and of course like any new gaming system, there are none available for purchase at most stores. Smile
