The Death Gate Cycle

I just recently started reading the first book from the Death Gate cycle, Dragon Wing. It sucks you right in, but you definitely can stop reading at any time. There's this assassin dude who is one of the main characters, and he is just completely badass, because he notices everything, like, everything. I think I'm gonna constantly know which way on the compass I'm facing at any given moment from now on, judging by the position of the sun, like the Assassin, Hugh the Hand, does in the book. Right now I'm facing SW.

I'll have to check that book out the next time I go to the library, but right now I've got a boatload of work to do.
