Just recently, the well-known free application known as Microsoft Antispyware is having a name change!
It will now be known as Microsoft Defender (now under the Platform Products and Services Division for Microsoft), and will forever be free as an add-on for Windows XP, but the Microsoft Software Development team reveals that they will be adding it on as a part of Windows Vista. Microsoft Defender will have its own place in the Windows Vista Security Center, and if needed, you are able to disable it and install a third-party antispyware software.
Another update is the incorporation of updates through Windows Update for Microsoft Defender. Plus, it is now able to detect keylogging applications, rootkits and other additions including spyware.
